Do you speak in public?
Then you are a public speaker. And speaking in public is not easy, because many times the message we’re trying to convey is not necessarily the message that’s received.
These are four – somewhat random – keys to communicate better with people, whether it’s a team of 2 or company of 2,000.
- Beware your repetitive mannerisms (not just what you say, but how you use your hands)
- Speak personally and it will resonate universally
- Be cognizant or your environment and surroundings, and how they interact (esp. virtually)
- R-E-L-A-X. What makes the audience most uncomfortable is when you are uncomfortable.
