You Control Your Attitude.

I have a simple ACE philosophy that I try to live by, which stands for “Attitude Controls Everything.” You cannot control what happens to you; you can only control how you respond to it.

Those with a positive attitude and a winning mentality have been trained to think this way through their experiences and successes and/or failures. Positive attitudes don’t happen by accident; they happen by choice.

This is an important distinction: many people look at those with positive attitudes and think they have something we don’t have. This is not true. In reality, they do something we don’t do. The make an active choice to control their thoughts and to use them to their advantage.

Stop for a moment and think of how you would live your life if you knew you couldn’t fail. What risks would you take that you aren’t taking now? How would your perception of the world change? How would your relationships and interactions with others improve?

Have a positive attitude, mental strength, mental toughness, a winning attitude, etc., is easier said than done. Many of us have become “conditioned” to look at the glass as half empty rather than half full. We see perceived risks more than potential rewards. And to reverse this type of thinking takes consistency and dedication (just as it would if you were to make a change with your body). It doesn’t happen overnight.
