Charisma is a lot like influence. I’ve never met a person that wouldn’t like a little more of it.
The ability to charm, inspire, be compelling around others: Charisma is one of those things that serves you in a variety of contexts.
Personally, I never felt like I had much. I was the shy kid that sat in the back of the classroom and prayed that the teacher wouldn’t call on me to answer a question. I HATED talking in front of the class.
Things have changed a bit since then :-)
Still, when I was asked after a recent keynote how I became such a “charismatic speaker,” I was dumbfounded. I didn’t know what to say but I answered it as best I could:
When I think of the charismatic people I gravitate towards, they ALL come from a place of service and their authenticity is straight from the heart.
Lead with this and your charisma will follow.
