Hello Outperformer,
I don’t talk a lot about spirituality in my weekly emails but do you ever wake up and have a series of things happen to you where it becomes blatantly obvious that God is trying to tell you something?
Today was that day.
The first post I saw when I opened my Instagram feed today talked about the power of being in service to others.
Next, I interviewed someone for the Outperform Podcast. She’d been in a horrific car accident and was told she’d never walk again. After 34 surgeries (yes, 34!) and thousands of hours of physical therapy, she’s walking just fine. Her message? Have gratitude and serve others.
Then, I had a call with a friend that I hadn’t talked to in almost two years. At that time she was struggling, but now she’s built a thriving business and I asked her how she did it. She said she finally realized that her income was nothing more than a reflection of the number of people she serves.
Okay, God. I get it. You’ve made your point 🙂
We hear a lot about “servant leadership.” It’s easy to say…not always that easy to do.
The interesting thing, though, is that service to others is the remedy for almost all of our day-to-day struggles.
Feeling stuck and unmotivated? Someone out there needs you. Serve them.
Putting too much pressure on yourself to close-out the month? You’ll hit your numbers by serving more people.
Not being fulfilled by what you’re doing? Remind yourself of how many people you’ve served.
These are only three examples but if you’re reading this and are currently struggling with anything, I’m betting a shift to service will help. I know it does for me.
Keep Outperforming,
