After a hiatus, I started releasing new episodes of the Outperform Podcast a couple weeks ago. And I’m committed to releasing a new episode every Monday morning until the end of the year.

(feel free to hold me accountable)

As you’ll hear in the episode posted on August 21st, the genesis for starting it back up came from a conversation I had with another football dad.

Both of our sons play on the team and I saw him at one of the first practices. It had been a few months since we’d last seen each other.

The first thing he said to me wasn’t “How are you doing?” or “How’s Cole?” or “How’s Business?” It was:

You haven’t updated your podcast in a while!

Well, well, good to see you too! 🙂

Two things on this:

First, Outperformers surround themselves with people that don’t always tell them what they WANT to hear, but what they NEED to hear. He was right, I hadn’t updated the podcast in a while. And I deserved to be called out.

Second, and more importantly, you never know when someone needs your message. Your voice. Your positivity. Your pick me up.

It has nothing to do with being a public speaker.

See, this dad has had a tough last year. His wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been battling through chemotherapy, leaving him to burden many of the family responsibilities of raising three sons.

For whatever reason, my message speaks to him and inspires him. Shame on me for forgetting that benefit to others.

Your words and actions have the same influence.

Maybe it’s sending a text or – God forbid – picking up the phone and making a call. Or maybe it’s recording a podcast.

But it might just be the positivity and pick me up that someone needs right now.

Keep Outperforming,
